Established in 1858, our vineyards are located at the southernmost part of Sonoma Valley, just eight miles north of San Pablo Bay on the southwesterly slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. We sit at the crossroads of four AVAs: Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast, Carneros and Napa Valley which allows us to grow many different grapes to their optimal expression.
Cabernet Sauvignon grown on Rhinefarm creates wines of depth and power, well-integrated tannin structure, intense dark fruit and layers of cocoa and cassis. Our Cabernet Sauvignons age beautifully up to ten years and beyond.
A Bordeaux-inspired blend for everyday life that’s soft, lush and smooth but never sweet. Dangerously easy-drinking, this Merlot and Cabernet-based red wine offers balance, food-friendly structure and approachability. It's crafted for everyday enjoyment in Sonoma Valley.
Jacob Gundlach brought over this grape from his homeland and it has been growing on Rhinefarm ever since. Although plenty of wineries in Alsace make their Gewürztraminers a little sweet, we vinify ours completely dry, with bright acidity.
Here on Rhinefarm, Pinot demands and deserves meticulous attention in the vineyard and gentle handling in the cellar, but this delicate and complicated beauty is well worth the effort. The reward is an elixir that is both vibrant and subtle.
Merlot can have a reputation for being soft and wimpy, but the Merlot from Rhinefarm takes on a robust personality. It is distinctively dark and weighty with aromas and flavors of blueberries, black tea and cocoa and spice box.
We craft our Chardonnay in a food-friendly, focused style, with minimal new oak influences. Accented by 40+ year old heritage vines on the Rhinefarm estate, this wine offers elegance, varietal authenticity and beautiful acidity.
A grape originally hailing from Spain, our 5 acres of Rhinefarm Tempranillo offer lush, chewy tannins and lively acidity, creating an excellent food wine. It ages well, up to ten years after vintage. Only available through the Bacchus Club and direct from the winery.
A serious, food-friendly rosé made for year-round enjoyment. Crafted from five acres of Tempranillo planted in 1993 in the cooler area of the estate, this wine offers layers of aromas and flavors from strawberry to brewed tea. Only available through the Bacchus Club and direct from the winery.
Zinfandel certainly has a mind of its own and Rhinefarm's Zin is no exception. Originally planted in 1976, our vines yield a juicy, yet gutsy wine bursting with red and black fruit. Only available through the Bacchus Club and direct from the winery.
