SUMMARY:NEXGEN REGEN Spring Tour Series
DESCRIPTION:A series of four walks and talks through the vineyards of Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage with Meghan Murphy Ranch and Sustainability Manager. Spring is an exciting time in the vineyard\, and a great time to experience first hand the transformation the vines and their eco system go through as they come out of dormancy and into the new vintage. Meghan manages the regenerative efforts of our estate vineyards and will discuss the spring emergence in that context. Each week Meghan will discuss general growing progress to date\, and then focus on key aspect of our regenerative program. \nTours begin at 10:30am and end at 12:30pm. $20pp for Gundlach Bundschu and Abbot’s Passage wine club members (check your email for your discount code) and $25pp general public. Space is very limited and we encourage attending multiple tours\, as topics and locations change each Saturday. \n  \nSAT. APR 19 INTRO TO REGENERATIVE VITICULTURE @ Gundlach Bundschu \nWe will discuss Regenerative viticulture and how is it different from other management approaches. In that context we will then explore the annual lifecycle of vineyard and ecosystem it is a part of. Finally\, we will go into the vineyard for some real time vine measurements so we can track growth over the course of the series.  \nSAT. APR 26 IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DIRT @ Abbot’s Passage \nPlants\, including grapevines\, are only as good as the dirt they grow in. The regenerative approach to farming all starts with the soil. Meghan will walk through everything that goes into soil management for existing\, fallow and pre-plant blocks.  You’ll have a hands on chance to learn that it is actually ‘all about every thing that is in the dirt’. We will again check in on the specific vine cycle that day\, and measure growth to date.  \nSAT. MAY 3 BUGS\, BIRDS & OTHER CRITTERS @ Gundlach Bundschu \nBugs\, disparagingly called ‘pests’ by big-ag\, are a big issue in the vineyard\, and managing them in regenerative organic way takes a special kind of skill\, patience\, and wallet. Meghan will walk through all that goes into managing bugs and other critters throughout the growing season. We will also go back into the vineyard to check on the previous weeks’ activities and chart the vine growth.  \nSAT. MAY 10 CARBON SEQUESTRATION & CLIMATE RESILIENCE @ Abbot’s Passage \nPerennial plants\, cover crops\, No-till systems & Increased canopy management \n  \n– All tours are 10:30AM to 12:30PM. Locations vary each week. \n– Complimentary glass of wine following each tour. \n– $20pp Bacchus Club and Abbot’s Passage Collective ($25pp General Public). Club members may request your discount code via email or text. \n– Kids under 10 are free and no ticket is required but please email info@bundschu.com so we can plan accordingly. \n– Members may purchase up to 4 tickets per club account. \n– Boots or closed toe shoes and long pants highly recommended. \n– These tours may be filmed and live streamed for others to enjoy. By attending you grant permission to Gundlach Bundschu to use your image\, voice or likeness. \nSpace very is limited so please RSVP early. \nBOOK NOW\n
