Poetry Contest

THANK YOU WRITERS!

We received so many wonderful submissions during our Second Annual Deed Day Writing Contest on March 12, 2010 thank you all! Once again, we were impressed and humbled by the effort and talent displayed by the Gun Bun community, thank you!

The following video announces the winners of the 2010 Bundschu 152 Writing Contest:

It was so hard to select these winners! Four members of the Bundschu family used strict judging criteria to anonymously score each poem, and the sum of their individual scores determined the FIRST, SECOND and THIRD place winners.

Thank you all for participating in writing and reading the entries.

We also had two categories this year for Honorable Mentions:

HONORABLE MENTION: BEST VIDEO

Last year's second place poetry winner was the only one brave enough to submit a video this year! Thank you Marilyn!

HONORABLE MENTION: BEST PHOTO:

Home winemakers and cute dogs, how can we possibly choose just one?

ABOUT DEED DAY

March 12, 1858 is the date Jacob Gundlach signed the deed to our estate and the beginning of our family’s love affair with the the land and the vine. His son-in-law Charles Bundschu, a poet, bon-vivant and wine fanatic, added his unique contribution to our family history by starting our tradition of creative writing and performance to commemorate special occasions.  Each year, we hold a 24-hour writing contest on March 12 to celebrate our anniversary.
